The future of Sven's Tower

We are so thrilled to discover the strength of feeling for the preservation, conservation and future use of Sven’s Tower in St. Ives and can now tell you that we are playing an active part in ensuring its survival. Really looking forward to meeting for the second time this month (July) as part of the Sven’s Tower Steering Group, which is overseeing the early stages of what will be a fascinating heritage project, working with the St. Ives Town Council and Cornwall Council. Among those involved is a well respected architect, key representatives from both Councils and from the St. Ives Archive.

We’re busy pulling together useful archive material to back up funding efforts and gaining recognition from historic institutions and recently discovered these few words in a letter to us just before Sven died.

This, and the encouragement of our dear late friend, Toni Carver, the former editor of the St. Ives Times & Echo are both good reasons for driving this project onwards!  If any one out there has any memories or information about The Tower we would be delighted to hear from you.

Some of you may remember we originally began this project some years back and here we all are looking that much younger!!
